Also, All incoming kindergartners need to turn in their enrollment packet and a copy of their immunizations, vision, and physical before they can start school. Packets were mailed out but you can get another copy in the district office.
WPS would like to welcome Jay Martin from the Nebraska Schools Safety Dept. on Aug 20th to present parents and community members a program on Digital Culture. Digital
wisdom is needed for students and parents to improve behavioral, mental, and emotional
well-being. Together we can improve the digital culture and climate in our school and community. Please join us on August 20th from 5pm-6pm in the WPS theater for this community presentation.
Fall sports conditioning starts Monday Aug 5th. Times will change as the week goes on so please talk with your student athletes as coaches will update them as the week goes on.
XC conditioning- 8:00 AM. It would be in the best interest of all runners to show up to get acclimated to the heat.

Winnebago Public Schools moved to ban all portable wireless device use for students at WPS for the 2024-2025 school year. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of cell phones, I-watches and personal laptops and tablets. The ban is in effect for all students from the time students arrive until the end of the school day. The policy is not in effect during practices and after school activities. Coaches and sponsors will use their own discretion for their sport/activity.
This policy will be in effect for all areas of the building, at all times, during the school day and will be strictly enforced by all employees of the school district. To deter the use of these electronic devices, strict consequences have been put into place. They are as follows:
1st Offense: 3 days in-school suspension.
2nd Offense: 5 days out-of-school suspension
3rd Offense: 10 days out-of-school suspension.
This policy has been implemented to help to keep all students safe and keep them engaged in the learning that will directly impact their future.

The Winnebago Football team participated in the Dakota State 9-Man Team Camp yesterday and today. 12 total teams from Minnesota Nebraska and South Dakota participated. The team is currently eating lunch in Sioux Falls and looks to return around 4:30-5pm.

The 24-25 school year is about to ramp up so here are the schedules for the fall sporting events.
Good morning, with only a few weeks before the school year begins we just wanted to throw out a friendly reminder that all incoming 7-12 students need to have a completed 2024-25 physical on file at the school. If you have not gotten your child in for a physical please do so ASAP. Student athletes will not be able to participate in activities or practices if they don't have a physical turned in to the school.
Also required is the WPS Activities Participation packet all pages must be filled out and signed, which is attached. You may also pick up a packet at the main office if needed.
High School Football Team Camp starts today at 5pm for any high school students interested in playing football this year….camp is July 16-18. This is only for incoming student athletes in High School 9-12 grades.
