Full name: Avani Zephier-Wilkie Parents/guardians: Trevor Wilkie and Courtney Zephier Favorite Memory of High School: Honestly, there are a lot. The school dances are some of my favorite memories, but senior year as a whole is my overall favorite. I met some interesting people throughout the year and formed friendships. Going to state for wrestling not once, but three times was my all time favorite though. Favorite Class(es)/Why: The science classes with Mrs. Eberly were some of my favorites, along with the math classes with Mr. Johnson and Mrs. Nelson. I love science and mathematical challenges, and I am most likely going to major in one of these in college. Another class that I took this year was Lifetime Activities with Mr. Benne. It's more like a PE class, but there were a lot of fun moments. Favorite Teacher(s)/Why: Mrs. Fernandez, Mrs. Eberly, Mrs. Brasch, the Garthoffs, and the Bennes are some of my favorites. Fernandez was my teacher at the beginning of junior high and still is. She has been there for me since then and can be considered my school mom. Eberly and Brasch made their classes really enjoyable and they were also there for me when I was going through some things. The Garthoffs were comedic reliefs, always there to crack a joke and lighten up my day. As for the Benne’s, it was really fun to scare Mrs. Benne throughout my high school career, which were some of my favorite moments. Mr. Benne was more of that laid back teacher that made coming to school more enjoyable with the games he would play during class. All these teachers were really supportive throughout my highschool years. Most influential adult/Why: My parents. They were my first teachers, role models, and sources of support. They helped shape me into the person I am today. I’m very grateful for them because they chose to be there and raise me, and also push me to achieve my goals, and to do better than them. #lovemyparents More influential people in my life would be my coaches, Adam Tranmer and Adam James. They’re some of my biggest supporters and, I hope, they still will be when I go to college. They made my high school wrestling career fun and really enjoyable, and they supported me through my injuries. Future Plans: I plan on attending and wrestling at Doane University in Crete, Nebraska, where I will get a bachelor’s degree in some field of STEM Words of Wisdom to Underclassmen: For future student-athletes, remember you are a student before an athlete, so get your work turned in and don’t argue back. Set small goals that you can achieve each year of highschool.

Favorite Class(es)/Why: Cooking class because I like baking and learning how to cook other foods. Sewing class because I like learning how to make pillows or bears. I like chilling with one of my favorite teachers. I like Art class because I like drawing and creating. Favorite Teacher(s)/Why: Mrs. Burgett because she is so fun to hang with and she helps me a lot, and she’s funny. She is the reason I am graduating. Ms. Shipman is another favorite teacher of mine. She is really kind and also fun to hang out with. She’s taught me a lot. Mrs. Addison is nice and also helped me a lot. Most Influential Adult/Why: Mrs. Burgett, Mrs. Addison, and my mom because they push me to go to school. They are the reason I am graduating. Future Plans: To get a job and a huge house, and help my family. Word of Wisdom to Underclassmen: Finish school by going all day. You will be like me- graduating- if you’re doing well in all of your classes. I want you to keep it like that and never give up. If someone is telling you you’re not going to graduate, keep doing your work and you will be successful.
