We are at the end of NSeSA's Winter Season with the State Finals taking place this Friday, February 2nd. Winnebago competed with 3 teams this Winter, 2 in Mario Kart and 1 in Overwatch.
Mario Kart - Team 1 (8-0) #1
Zayne Bassette, Eugene DeCora, Devin Houghton, Damon Payer, and Sub - Kenny Nieman
Team 1 finished the regular season 5-0 with the #1 seed going into the playoffs. They continued their domination throughout the playoffs defeating Ord, Chase County, and #8 David City to advance to the Winter State Finals. They will face off against #4 Conestoga in the first round. The State Finals will take place at York University in York, Nebraska. Their session is set to start at 9am.
Mario Kart - Team 2 (8-0) #2
Gerry Earth, Leo Holstein, Ayden Littlegeorge-Cloud, Kenny Nieman, and Sub - Gryphon McClelland
Team 2 finished the regular season 5-0 with the #2 seed going into the playoffs. They defeated LCC, Southern, and #7 Thayer Central to clinch a spot in the Winter State Finals. They will face off against #3 Syracuse in the first round. The State Finals will take place at York University in York, Nebraska. Their session is set to start at 9am.
Overwatch (6-0) #2
Zayne Bassette, Haini Morgan, Devin Houghton, Damon Payer, Early Snow, and Subs - Gerry Earth and Ayden Littlegeorge-Cloud
Overwatch team finished the regular season 4-0 with the #2 seed going into playoffs. After a first round bye they defeated Centennial 2-0 in the 2nd round to set up a match with #7 Amherst to go to state. Winnebago went on to defeat #7 Amherst 2-0 to punch their ticket to state. They will face off against #6 LCC in the first round who they defeated 2-1 earlier this year. The State Finals will take place at York University in York, Nebraska. Their session is set to start at 12pm.
