    COVID-19 Continuity of Learning Plan

    School Personnel Roles and Responsibilities

    School Board of Education
    -Make decisions based upon information shared by the Superintendent of Schools
    -Serve as a liaison between the school and community

    Superintendent
    -Provide leadership/guidance to the administration and staff.
    -Create environments that allow flexibility for staff in order for them to serve the needs of their students during this time.
    -Ensure that equity is upheld for students of poverty/limited technology access
    -Stay informed: Be involved in virtual meetings as needed (Public Health Departments, Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska, Commissioner of Education, ESU #1 Superintendents, etc.).
    -Stay up-to-date on ever changing laws/statutes regarding Education and COVID-19
    -Create and distribute the WPS COVID-19 Continuity of Learning Plan
    -Monitor Administrators’ Time and Effort Loges to ensure expectations are being met

    Administration
    -Support faculty and students/families while shifting to an alternate learning environment
    -Help teachers implement WPS COVID-19 Continuity of Learning Plan
    -Monitor communication between teachers and their students
    Keep staff informed and provide guidance regarding on-going expectations through virtual meetings
    -Monitor Teachers’ Time and Effort Logs to ensure expectations are being met
    -Organize/Plan/Schedule for the 2020-2021 School Year
    Maintain Daily Time and Effort Logs
    -Be available via email, zoom, phone, and text to parents/students/ teachers/staff between the hours of 8-3, at a minimum, per the school calendar
    -Be available for emergency/crisis situations beyond regular school hours

    Technology Department
    -Provide support to faculty and students/families that may not have technology support when it is required.
    -Support faculty and students/families shifting to an alternate learning environment
    -Provide written/virtual support to assist faculty with using district identified resources as needed

    Teaching Staff (Regular)
    -Collaborate and meet via virtual platforms with administration.
    -Make sure parents are aware which online resources your students will access. Include information on how to access the resources.
    -Create packets of Review/Reinforcement/Enrichment activities with state standards identified; these activities will not be graded.
    -Be available during school hours (8-3) to administration, parents, and students.
    -Communicate with and provide timely feedback to administration, students and parents.
    -Teachers will participate in assigned and volunteer professional development opportunities (google classroom, Discovery Education, virtual field trips, zoom, online platforms, etc.).
    -Teachers will prepare district pacing guides and align state standards for the 2020-2021 school year.
    -Staff will maintain a daily Time and Effort log.
    -Staff will maintain a student/parent contact log.

    Special Education Teacher
    -Collaborate and meet via zoom with administration.
    -Make sure parents are aware which online resources your students will access. Include information on how to access the resources.
    -Creating packets with enrichment activities identifying state standards. Enrichment activities will not be returned.
    -Make yourself available during school hours (8-3) to administration, parents, and students.
    -Communicate with and provide timely feedback to both students and parents.
    -Teachers will participate in assigned/ volunteer professional development opportunities (google classroom, discovery education, virtual field trips, zoom, online platforms, etc).
    -Teachers will prepare district pacing guides and align state standards for the 2020-2021 school year.
    -Staff will maintain a daily log and effort log.
    -Staff will maintain a student/parent contact log.
    -Communicate regularly with the regular ed. teachers who teach the students on your caseload.
    -Communicate regularly with students on your caseload and their parents.
    -Provide supplementary learning activities for students on your caseload that you already provide direct instruction for.
    -Make sure all special education guidelines and regulations are followed.

    Mental Health Therapist
    -Make contact with all clients.
    -Set up continuation of services schedule for all clients.

    Classified Staff Supervisors (Grounds Transportation, Maintenance, and Food Service)
    -Ensure building area/ grounds are maintained
    -Ensure support staff know schedules and job assignments
    -Ensure materials/ food are ordered to ensure the continued feeding of our students.

    Support Staff (food service personnel, paraprofessionals, and custodial staff)
    -Ensure enrichment packets are put together
    -Deliver enrichment packets if not picked up
    -Prepare breakfast and lunch for all students ages 1-18.
    -Help with pickup and delivery of breakfast and lunch.
    -Maintain the building while students are away(clean/disinfect following COVID-19 guidelines).

    Office Staff (finance, receptionist/ other office personnel, human resources)
    -Maintain finances in orderly fashion
    -Payrolls are done on time
    -Accounts payable are taken care of in a timely manner
    -Ensure purchase orders are properly handled
    -Ensure federal, state and grant reports are completed as required
    -Receptionist/ other office personnel
    -Receive phone calls
    -Make copies
    -Help other staff when available
    -Human Resources
    -Ensure all personnel files are kept current

    Parent Roles and Responsibilities
    -Provide support for your children by doing as many of these things as possible:
    -Establishing routines and expectations with your kids (times for studying, quiet time, etc.)
    -SPED/504: Make sure you maintain contact with both classroom teachers and special ed. teachers
    -Defining the physical space for your child to study
    -Monitor communications from your child’s teachers/communicate with child’s teachers as needed
    -Taking an active role in helping your child process his/her learning
    -Encouraging physical activity and/or exercise
    -Be mindful of your child’s stress or worry – Don’t add stress to yourself!
    -WPS Staff are here for you!
    -Support your child’s social connections, but set rules around social media interactions

    Student Roles and Responsibilities
    -Ensure your success by doing the following:
    -Grades K-6: Enrichment activities are available weekly. They will not be graded.
    -Grades 7-12: Enrichment activities are available weekly (pick up or delivery).
    -Check your emails daily for emails from teachers.
    -Teachers will have weekly scheduled virtual office hours via zoom.
    -Late work must be completed and turned in via email.
    -Enrichment activities will indicate the state standards being met.
    -Enrichment activities for all students K-12 are not to be returned. They are for the students’ benefit.
