What’s Hot for Gamers This Holiday Season by Cota Springer

Like it or not, we’re only 7 weeks away from Christmas. Many of you might be ready to start tackling that Christmas list and if you have kids or teens on your list, there’s a whole host of new games and accessories to make the gamer in your life drool.

Parents are going to have a hole in their wallet this Christmas with tons of new titles this fall season. Some of the big boys that came out were Borderlands 3 and soon to be released Death Stranding by the great Hideo Kojima. One of my favorites this year was the release of Luigi’s Mansion 3, while on the other hand, the video game that is at the top with popularity is the new cod Modern Warfare that was number one in the steam store first day of release.

Some of the new gear out. For example, hyper X headphones and the new NEW Xbox elite controller series 2  came out but they’re pretty pricey. Also new and poppin’ is the Nintendo Switch lite which is just a smaller switch that’s priced higher. Pokemon Sword and Shield was the biggest hype, but with all the new rules and systems (like being able to only use Pokemon in the Galar region) it is all quite lame (IMHO). On another note, some more hyped games soon to be released like the new Star Wars game Jedi: Fallen Order that’s scheduled to be released on November 15 same date as pokemon.

In conclusion, many kids and teens are more than likely to ask for money (like me), but all of the really hyped games are to be released in 2020 due to delays on DOOM Enternial and the new DBZ game Kakarot and the god tier release of the Final Fantasy 7 remake.

Happy Holidays everyone. If any of the new games are under your tree, your kids will truly be “merry and bright!”
