It’s hard to believe how fast the summer went. It seems like just yesterday we were saying goodbye to the Class of 2019, and now they’re all off to college, work or trade school (sniffle sniffle). Now, we’re already three weeks into the new year. We’ve welcomed a new group of freshmen into our mix, as well as some new teachers. My classes are off and running (mostly) without a hitch. As you will see from an upcoming story, the journalism class has exploded, and we’re excited to welcome the opportunity to explore journalism with the help of Mr. Robert Stoner as my co-teacher. We will be responsible for school news on the web site as well as resurrecting our yearbook. We are in our fifth year of offering Composition I as dual credit course with LPTC. Select seniors and academy students are currently enrolled and working on a “descriptive analogy” essay. English II (formerly English 10) is working on planning, writing, editing and revising various types of sentences: simple, compound, complex and compound-complex. Drama is working through a fun curriculum entitled “The Very Least You Should Know About Drama.” So we’re all staying pretty busy. If you have any questions about your child’s progress, please feel free to call me at 402-878-2224 (I am free from 8-9 AM or after school) or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to a positive and productive school year.
