Senior Spotlight: Elijah Vargas by Florence Soap

Elijah Vargas is the son of DaNae Vargas and Carlos Vargas. While in high school, Elijah participated in both football and basketball. Elijah’s favorite school lunch is chicken alfredo, and, when asked who his favorite teacher was while attending WPS, he said “Dusty because he’s a cool teacher and football coach”. If Elijah could have any superpower it would be to have the ability to teleport so he could get to places faster. One inspirational quote Elijah would like to share is “Keep grinding boy, your life can change in one year, and even when it’s dark out, the sun is shining somewhere”. Elijah’s sophomore year was by far the most memorable experience for him while in high school. After graduation, he plans to attend LPTC, Briar Cliff, or Wayne State to get his 2 years out of the way and get a good job. A piece of advice he’d give to underclassmen is “It’s tiring but keep going and don’t give up”. Good luck and good wishes, Elijah.
