In the mood to go to the cinema but don’t have a ride or money? Would you rather spend $10 at a movie you can only see until it is released or pay a monthly membership of $8.99 for Netflix? Then I highly recommend this teen romance comedy called The Kissing Booth. This film is based on a novel by Beth Reekles. Elle Evans and Lee Flynn have been best friends since day one, they were born on the same day, and at the same time. Their moms were best friends way before anyone even used the term “BFF’s”. So all their lives Elle and Lee were raised like twins and they were inseparable ever since. Age 7, they made rules in their friendship. One of them was that relatives were strictly off-limits. That means Lee’s older brother Noah, rules can be bent right? Until the school’s fundraisers kissing booth, where rules are changed. A high school student Elle Evans finds herself face-to-face with her long-term crush Noah Flynn when she signs up to run a kissing booth at the spring carnival. The film The Kissing Booth belongs in the comedy, drama and teen romance category and it delivers everything you would expect. If you are into teen romance mixed in with a little comedy, this is the movie for you. This is probably not everyone’s favorite but I enjoyed it very much. And if I would have to rate this movie, I would give it an 8.
