The scholarship honors Ponca Chief Standing Bear and his contributions to Native people by helping American Indian students pursue post-secondary education. This scholarship is granted by the Chief Standing Bear Journey for Justice Scholarship fund, an affiliated fund of the Nebraska Community Foundation. For the students that demonstrate qualities of leadership, character and academic accomplishment, and who need financial assistance to meet their educational goals will be awarded five scholarships of $1,500.
To qualify for this application you must reside in Nebraska and be a member of a recognized North American tribe, have or be on tack to receive a high school diploma or GED certificate. The process is pretty straightforward, Complete the personal information portion of the application form. Provide information regarding your financial need. Write a 500-word essay, and obtain a letter reference.
